Matty Duncan Man in the Struggle
|
With more
than a decade working in the music business as a singer and composer, Matty
Duncan an English musician, who has spend most of his life living in the
beautiful Caribbean island of St. Lucia, has been slowly but determined
building a name for himself.
Believing
more in quality than quantity Matty took time to release his album, crafting
his songs to perfection and releasing them full of emotion and character.
He is clearly influenced by the masters Jimmy Cliff, Peter Tosh and by the
legendary Bob Marley. Matty undoubtedly carried in his music the true spirit
of Reggae.
In 1988 his
first single "Daniel and the Lions" sold more than 15.000 copies and gave
him his first big break on his career.
As the name suggest, all songs talk about the problems faced by the human being
against the system and reflects Matty Duncan's concerns with our society who praises
the rich and oppresses the poor.
The songs
are: Money and Man, Social Problem, Strong Man, Hello My Friend!, Daniel
and the Lion, Struggling On, Suspicion and finally Every Try.
The Song "Every
Try" actually is the B side of his first single "Daniel and The Lions"
originally pressed on vinyl.
All songs
were entirely composed by Matty Duncan except "Social Problem" which has
been composed by Mr. Rock Moses.
Although Matty
Duncan started to work on this album in the sunny tropical Caribbean, it
was here in London at the Sparkside Studios where he recorded and mixed
"Man in the Struggle". Later the whole album has been mastered at Raw
Vibe Studios.
Paul Blake
and Henry Holder have been playing with Maxi Priest. Eaton Blake and Bevan
Fegan had been playing with Matumbi (Prominent reggae band from the 70's).
To license
"Man In The Struggle" is to invest in quality music...
